Rampant burglary in Baalbeck leads shop owners to demonstrate

Shop owners in the city of Baalbeck held a sit-in on Monday at the town square denouncing rampant acts of theft overtaking the area.

The demonstrators called on the security forces to provide apt protection from the rising wave of insecurity targeting their livelihoods.

Several shop owners closed their businesses for the day in solidarity.

It is worth noting that the area has been the target of widespread burglary, with the latest theft costing a shop owner 120 Million Lebanese Pounds.
