MP Gemayel condemns the Roumieh prison incident, hold government accountable

Kataeb Party MP Sami Gemayel condemned on Monday the presence of an "emirate in Roumieh prison" and said that the government is to be held accountable for this issue.

Gemayel said that the situation in the prison cannot remain as such and stressed that measures should be taken in this regard.

"If security cannot be maintained in the Roumieh prison, then how can it be implemented within the entire country?" he added.

As for the Wata El Joz dispute, Gemayel called on Keserwan residents to comply with the laws and regulations "as to set a good example for others".

"No one is above the law, and compliance is a national duty," he stressed.

On the file of the Parliamentary elections, Gemayel said that the Kataeb party participated effectively in the parliamentary sub-committee and added that it is committed to its work in the sub-committee's meetings.

"We remain open to other electoral suggestions since our main concern is a law that ensures fair and just representation for all Lebanese factions," he said.
