Rai calls on adopting an electoral law that serves the entire nation

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rai stressed Tuesday on the importance of adopting an electoral law that serves the entire Lebanese nation instead of serving individuals.

Rai said before a delegation from Kfarselwan that an electoral law that serves individuals is not acceptable and called on officials to seek a law that serves all factions otherwise, disputes and conflicts will persist.

Rai hoped for moving away from the great division that Lebanon is witnessing and pointed out that discussing the electoral law is a starting point for reconciliation among Lebanese citizens.
