Hezbollah and Lebanese FM condemn Israeli strike in Syria

Hezbollah condemned on Thursday the Israeli attack on a Syrian research center, saying it was an attempt to thwart Arab military capabilities.

The group pledged to stand by its ally President Bashar al-Assad, saying "Hezbollah expresses its full solidarity with Syria's leadership, army and people."

On another front, Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour condemned the attack, stressing that it proved “Israel’s intentions that have always threatened peace and security in the Arab World.”

Mansour then added that the Arab people have the right to resist the Israeli attacks through all legitimate ways.

Sources reported on Wednesday that Israeli jets bombed a convoy carrying weapons near Syria's border with Lebanon. Syria denied the reports, saying the target had been a military research center.

In a related context, the White House warned Damascus against sending arms to Hezbollah.
