Zahra slams orders to lift immunity on Harb

LF Deputy Antoine Zahra denounced on Tuesday Public prosecutor Hatem Madi's orders to lift Mp Boutrous Harb's political immunity under the pretext that the latter slammed the President of the Republic and the Lebanese Judiciary.

Zahra stressed that Harb is a man of integrity who dedicated his life for his country and its citizens.

"We can't understand how the public prosecutor considered this 'support' to the president as accusations against him," Zahra said.

He was also surprised that the arrest warrant against the suspect in the assassination attempt against Harb coincided with the request to lift the immunity of the MP.

Zahra also asked why those who have been targets of assassination are now being prosecuted by the authorities.
