Future Bloc: Hezbollah's policies place Lebanon in grave danger

Following its weekly meeting, Future bloc MP Ammar Houri delivered statements on behalf of his bloc in a press conference on Tuesday.             

Describing the bloc as a "secularist group", Houri said that it "will not be pulled into sectarianism" adding that the approval of the Orthodox Gathering's electoral draft by the joint committee "places Lebanon on a dangerous path".                  

"Today is a 'black day' in the history of Lebanon's legislative work," MP Houri said reiterating the bloc's refusal to this "destructive law".                      

MP Houri added that the orthodox gathering electoral draft serves the Israeli interests first and foremost.                            

As for the Syrian crisis, Houri denounced Hezbollah's alleged involvement in the clashes by "fighting alongside regime powers" adding that the Hezbollah is violating the dissociation policy adopted by the Lebanese government and placing Lebanon in danger.            

"Hezbollah operates away from the interest of Lebanon and is merely a pawn in the regional game," MP Houri said.            

Houri held Hezbollah responsible for any negative repercussions that may come as a result of its involvement in the Syrian crisis.                        

On the open ended strike being staged by the Union Coordinating Committee, Houri expressed pessimism towards what he described as the government's failed policies saying, "The government should be held responsible for the country's economic downfall that will result from making false promises."        

Commenting on the reactions which had followed MP Michel Aoun's statements on Bahrain, Houri said, "We denounce all rhetoric against the Gulf Cooperation Countries that will reflect negatively on the Lebanese Diaspora."
