Connelly meets with Gemayel, calls for respecting constitutional due dates

Following her meeting with the Kataeb Party Leader Amine Gemayel, US Ambassador to Lebanon Maura Connelly stressed on the importance of holding the elections on their constitutional due date.

Connelly discussed with Gemayel the current situation in Lebanon and the region in light of the Syrian crisis and its repercussions on the country.

For his part, Gemayel reiterated his stance regarding "positive dissociation" and called on all factions to respect the Baabda declaration.
