Mokbel: Our goal is to bring together the community members

Deputy Prime Minister Samir Mokbel confirmed on Friday that the Orthodox meeting’s constant goal lies in bringing together the community members and regaining the Orthodox decision, denying all rumors surrounding the meeting.

Following his meeting with Bishop Elias Audi, the current Metropolitan bishop of the Greek Orthodox Church for the Archdiocese of Beirut, Mokbel voiced support for the electoral law put forth during the orthodox meeting, adding that “there are 64 Christian MPs, among which more than 50% garner non-Christian votes.”

In his concluding remarks, Mokbel confirmed that he endorses any electoral law that ensures fair representation “in order to avoid the marginalization of any Lebanese party.”
