PM Mikati holds Children Cabinet on International Children's Day
                     
Prime Minister Najib Mikati hosted on Wednesday the children's cabinet formed on the occasion of Children's Day, where thirty children from different ages, regions and confessions, along with a number of children from different Arab countries, participated in a cabinet session.                 

A number of ministers and representatives of the Red Cross, as well as representatives of organizations and institutions concerned with children's affairs also attended the session, where PM Mikati delivered a speech welcoming the children and stressing that child protection will always be among the country's priorities.               

"We held this meeting to listen to your worries and concerns. We want to hear all the ideas you have in mind and we are willing to take them into consideration," Mikati said. 

Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour also spoke during the session, and stressed the need to meet the children's most basic demands pertaining to education, protection and hospitalization.       

This event was organized upon the initiative of the higher childhood council at the Ministry of Social Affairs.         

Earlier, Mikati met with the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Lebanon Ali Awad Asiri at the Grand Serail with discussions reportedly featuring high on bilateral relations and the situation in the region.        

Mikati also met with Minister of Interior and Municipalities Marwan Charbel.
