Education Ministry sets the dates for official exams and the end of the academic year

General Director of the Ministry of Education Fady Yarak issued on Wednesday a memorandum announcing the dates of official exams along with the dates of the result issuance and the end of the academic year for 2012-2013.         

I-Continuing the academic year
                              

From the date of issuing this memorandum, and until the end of the academic year, work in secondary and public schools is set for 6 days/week with the possibility of taking advantage of the afternoon period to complete the educational curricula.                         

The principle of the high school is to follow up on the organization of issues pertaining to the exams.                       

II-End of the academic year
          

Saturday the 29th of June 2013 is set as the last educational day in the 2012-2013 academic year.                    

III-Final exams and results                        

1-Lessons in public schools for the 3rd secondary education classes (in all sections) and intermediate classes (grade 9) end on Thursday the 23rd of May 2013.       

2-Final exams for the aforementioned classes commence on Monday the 27th of May 2013.           

3-Lessons for all other classes in public schools, including Kindergarten classes end on Wednesday the 12th of June 2013, and exams for these classes commence as of Thursday the 13th of June 2013.                         

4-Correction basis for each subject are to be set by teachers under the supervision of the coordinator.      

5-Results of the exams are to be announced following a thorough study, and the ratification of the instructors.              

6-High schools and public schools abide by the provisions of resolution 666/m/2000 issued on the 14th of November 2000 and its amendments: resolutions 742/m/2001, 847/m/2001, and 688/m/2010 issued on the 13th of May 2010.       

7-Provisions of the internal by-laws are to be applied on students who skip final exams for unjustified reasons.        

8-Results of public schools’ students are to be handed over to concerned authorities during a period no longer than Wednesday the 31st of July 2013.              

IV-Registration of students and work hours during the summer vacation                       

1- Registration of students begins from the day when results are issued until Saturday the 6th of July 2013, and on Tuesdays during the summer vacation.         

2-Starting from the 29th of June 2013 and until the 6th of July 2013, working hours are restricted to the director of the school and principals appointed for registering students on the condition that their numbers not exceed 3 principals.        

3-The director of the school or any other charged person along with one principal are expected to cover working hours every Tuesday during the summer vacation.
