Spouse of British PM visits displaced Syrians in Lebanon

The spouse of British Prime Minister David Cameron, Samantha, visited on Wednesday a refugee camp sheltering a number of displaced Syrians in Lebanon, and expressed her deep concern over the dire situation they are facing.

Mrs Cameron visited on Tuesday the Bekaa Valley during a trip with the London-based charity Save the Children, and stressed that Syrian children are falling victim to the rolling increasing in their country.

The U.N. estimates more than 1.1 million Syrians have fled, mainly to Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey, noting that over four million others have been displaced inside their war-torn country.

Lebanon has sheltered around 360,000 refugees fleeing the brutal crisis and violence in their country, according to the U.N.'s refugee agency.
