Public Health Ministry warns against soaring cases of scabies and lice

Public Health Ministry announced on Wednesday that an increasing number of scabies and lice infection cases have been registered due to population overcrowding and bad hygiene conditions among the displaced Syrians in Lebanon.

The Ministry added that these infections are causing intense allergic itching pointing out that they may be transmitted by direct skin-to-skin contact.

The Ministry mentioned that these diseases are not dangerous and can be easily treated by medicines widely available.

In this context, the Health Ministry called on all citizens to take precautionary measures by avoiding the sharing of clothes, blankets, and towels in order to avoid this contagious disease.
