MP Walid Khoury to LBCI: Agreeing upon an electoral law is more important than cabinet's formation

Change and Reform Bloc MP Walid Khoury said on Monday that a result was previously reached during the parliamentary subcommittee’s meeting pointing out that there is a majoritarian support for the Orthodox gathering’s electoral draft law.

MP Khoury told LBCI that House Speaker Nabih Berri was able to convince parties to be patient in reaching a law that serves all components of the Lebanese political sphere but considered that refraining from discussing the Orthodox Gathering’s electoral law during the Parliament’s General Authority session was not acceptable.

MP Khoury said that agreeing upon an electoral law is more important than forming the cabinet since it paves the way for the cabinet’s work.
