450 Syrians cross the border to the Wadi Khaled region

More than 450 Syrians arrived on Wednesday to the region of Wadi Khaled coming from the bordering region of al-Qussaisr following fierce battles taking place in the region.

Since the onset of the Syrian revolution in March 2011, several deadly clashes along the northern and eastern borders of Lebanon took place, usually between the Syrian army and the Free Syrian army or Lebanese groups backing the uprising.

Clashes also took place between armed groups in Lebanon between opposers and supporters of the Syrian regime, mainly in the city of Tripoli, where the Lebanese Army Forces have been exerting efforts to prevent the infiltration of fighters into Lebanon through the borders.
