Lebanon Press Club condemns killing of journalists in Israeli attack

Lebanon’s Press Club condemned the killing of journalists following what it described as an Israeli attack that left three media workers dead.

In a statement, the club said the victims included Ali Cheaib, a correspondent for Al-Manar, as well as Fatima Ftouni, a reporter for Al Mayadeen, and cameraman Mohamad Ftouni.

The club said it “strongly condemns this new crime targeting journalists,” calling for effective action to protect reporters and media workers and to keep them out of military conflicts.

It also urged international organizations to take concrete steps to provide an international framework for the protection of journalists in Lebanon and to pursue accountability for those responsible for crimes against them.
