PM Salam says war decision must remain in state hands, calls for end to conflict

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said that the decision of war and peace must remain exclusively in the hands of the Lebanese state, stressing that authorities are working through all available means to stop the war and spare Lebanon further losses.

Salam said Lebanon has become a victim of a war whose outcomes and end date no one can predict, adding that diplomatic efforts are being intensified to stop the attacks.

He also said that displaced people are the biggest victims of a war they had no decision in entering, stressing that the seriousness of the current phase requires national solidarity and moving away from accusations and internal divisions.
