MP Jumblatt: State institutions are the only means to deal with security unrest

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt urged on Monday the necessity to adhere to the state, adding that dangerous regional developments require the unity of the Lebanese people to address the repercussions of these conflicts.

MP Jumblatt's statement came in his weekly editorial in the PSP affiliated al-Anbaa website.

He also urged the Lebanese leaders to ease down their provocative rhetoric that will "only bring about sectarian strife."

MP Jumblatt voiced his trust in the state's judicial institutions that “are the only means to deal with any security unrest, such as the firing of rockets on Beirut on Sunday.”

On Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's speech delivered Saturday, MP Jumblatt said that Lebanese people needs a break from “fiery speeches that deepen sectarian division in the country."

He also demanded to spare Lebanon regional conflicts and crisis.

Four people were wounded on Sunday morning in a Grad rocket attack on Beirut's regions of Chiyah and Maroun Misk street.

The incident came one day after Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah vowed in a televised speech to help the Syrian regime and achieve "victory" in Syria.
