Gemayel to LBCI: Assault against students brings us back to the Syrian custody

MP Nadim Gemayel told Nharkom Said TV show that the assault against the Kataeb students before NDU on Friday is unacceptable and brings us back to the days of the [Syrian] custody, President Emile Lahoud’s tenure and to the rule of Maj. Gen. Jamil Sayyed.

“The State is incapable of maintaining democracy and freedoms”, Gemayel said.

Gemayel urged the State to understand these young students who conducted democratic elections and who will be the protectors of the Lebanese Armed Forces, the state’s institutions and the security forces in the future

Gemayel wondered: “What did these young people do wrong? Did they kidnap anyone? Did they seize land in Lessa? Did they kill an officer in the LAF?”
