Crowds express their grief over Kamal Jumblatt's assassination

On the 39th anniversary of Kamal Jumblatt’s assassination, crowds filled streets of Mukhtara as a massive march headed towards Jumblatt’s tomb.

 

Head of Democratic gathering MP Walid Jumblatt and his two sons Taymour and Aslan, MP Bahieh Hariri, the Palestinian and Russian ambassadors took part in the march.

 

The Lebanese Leftist leader Kamal Jumblatt was shot dead in 1977 by unknown gunmen in the mountains south-east of Beirut.

 

Jumblatt was killed at the age of 59 with his driver and a bodyguard on the road between Beirut and his family palace in the Druze Muslim village of Mukhtara.
