World Cancer Day

The 4th of February 2014 is World Cancer Day. A day where our thoughts and prayers go to each and every man, woman and child suffering and battling this disease.
This day is considered as an international day to raise awareness and as mentioned on worldcancerday.org , pin point the main cancer myths!



The goal of this campaign is to shed a light on the different misconceptions which have been haunting people for decades.
For instance , cancer is still a taboo subject in some cultures but talking openly about the disease helps tremendously on an individual and mass level. We have also heard a lot about how cancer is a silent disease which does not show any symptoms , yet this is absolutely wrong! there are many symptoms one can recognize which make early detection easier. This early detection is the main weapon in the battle against cancer.

One of the most harmful Myths is that we cannot do anything about cancer and that it is always deadly. As a matter of fact many things can be done to prevent it, and promoting a healthy lifestyle is a main pillar of this campaign. In an attempt to debunk the myths on World Cancer Day, the campaign provides the audience with fact and evidence sheets .

We must stress on the importance of early detection which is, on a yearly basis, saving the lives of thousands! With the right mindset and strategy, a third of all cancers can be prevented.
