This Is How Fashion Designers In The 1930’s Thought We’d dress Like Today

Ever imagined what fashion would look like in the future? Well, fashion designers are always ones to predict, even those who existed at the onset of the industry as early as 1939.

In a clip found on YouTube via Mental Floss, fashion designers display versatile pieces that would almost resemble The Jetsons in style but would rise in trend by the year 2000.

But clearly as many of us observed the turn of the millennium that occurred 14 years ago was mostly dominated by cargo pants, oversized sunglasses and a boho-chic motif as opposed to “glass wedding gowns”.

Nonetheless the video is worth a look seemingly since the designs were created with an awareness for climate change and technological advances, go figure!

“A modern man will carry a telephone, a radio, and containers for coins, keys, and candy for cuties,” the narrator of the video says right at the end.

Pretty accurate we'd say.
