Goal.com selects Roda Antar as player of the week
International football website goal.com recently published an article praising Lebanon’s Roda Antar, and naming him its player of the week, for his play making abilities in the triumphant 2-1 victory over South Korea in the third round of qualification for the 2014 World Cup.  

Goal.com editors came to the decision to name Antar as their player of the week when considering his contribution to the first goal of the match as well as his ability to continually “pose problems” for the Korean team.  

Lebanon’s victory last week means that even a tie with UAE will secure their spot in fourth round qualifiers, bringing Lebanon one step closer to that coveted World Cup spot.   

Antar, 31 is the captain of the Lebanese National team, holding a midfielder position and plays for Shandon Luneng Taishan in the Chinese Super League He started his career in Lebanon and has played in several clubs in Germany.
