Fayad: Palestinians hope statehood will bring them closer to freedom

Palestinian PM Salam Fayad said Monday from New York that the Palestinians view their statehood bid at the U.N. as an opportunity that will “bring them closer to freedom. 

“We hope this week leads to a result that will push our case forward and bring us closer to freedom”, Fayad said following his meeting with Norwegian foreign minister Jonas Gahr Store.
