Abbas urges Fatah Revolutionary Council to discuss fate of Palestinian Authority
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called on Fatah’s Revolutionary Council on Thursday to discuss the fate of the Palestinian Authority.

Abbas addressed the council in a speech he delivered at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, asking: “Where are we heading to? It is a question that should not remain unanswered”.

Abbas added that the council will discuss 3 issues: first, the U.N.’s suggestion to head to the General Assembly, second, the Quartet’s statements and third, the fact that the “Palestinian Authority is not an authority”.

“The Palestinian people and institutions are questioning the usefulness of this Authority’s persistence”, he said.

Fatah’s Revolutionary Council will be holding its meetings in Ramallah, in the West Bank until Friday.
