REPORT: Will Tartous be Syria’s new provisional capital?

Several media reports, mostly unconfirmed, said that the Syrian authorities have been busy transferring the contents of state banks and other government facilities to Tartous.

The authorities are widely expected to declare Tartous a provisional capital in the wake of a regime retreat from regions such as Aleppo, Deraa, or even Damascus.
