“You Stink” campaign reaches beyond Lebanon’s borders, receives worldwide coverage

The Lebanese “You Stink” campaign, with its massive rallies and slogans, reached beyond the Lebanese borders and received worldwide coverage.

Following the protest that gathered tens of thousands of people in downtown Beirut aimed at expressing unity and at raising the voice against corruption, poverty and the lack of the most basic living rights, the movement echoed around the globe through international media outlets.

In this context, American Broadcasting Company (ABC) TV network covered the events in photos, describing the crowds and the rallies as “historical”.

In turn, the British “Daily Mail” website published an article with a video depicting the anger expressed by the Lebanese population who took to the streets to express their opinions.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) website also covered the movements across the Lebanese streets, reflecting the demands of the people.

For its part, Huffington Post website hailed the intelligence and brilliance of the Lebanese youth in choosing the title of their campaign.

The Telegraph website also covered the civil society’s movements in Lebanon.
