USAID acting administrator to travel to Beirut

US Agency for International Development (USAID) Acting Administrator John Barsa announced on Monday that he will travel to Lebanon this week to observe the current USAID disaster response efforts and assess the situation on the ground.

“The US stands beside the people of Beirut,” he added.

Barsa also said that the USAID is partnering with the U.N. World Food Program to provide food assistance to support 300,000 people affected by the disaster.

“We are listening to the voices of the Lebanese people who have been demanding a brighter future free of corruption,” he stressed.
