Italy reopens its embassy in Kyiv

Italy reopened its embassy in Kyiv on Monday after moving it last March to the city of Lviv in western Ukraine for security reasons, according to identical sources.

Rome decided in early March, like most Western countries, to close its embassy in Kyiv "due to the deteriorating security situation."

On Friday, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said ambassador Pier Francesco Zazzo had arrived in Kyiv and that the Italian diplomatic mission in the Ukrainian capital would "work at full capacity as of Monday".
