Two Russian officials hint that Moscow might have to fight for a longer period in Ukraine
Russia's Defense Minister and head of the powerful Russian Security Council hinted on Tuesday that Moscow might have to fight for a longer period in Ukraine to achieve the objectives of its fourth-month offensive.

"We will continue the special military operation until all goals are achieved, regardless of the massive Western aid to the Kyiv regime and the unprecedented pressure of sanctions," Minister Sergei Shoigu said during a video meeting with his counterparts in former Soviet Union countries, which was broadcast on television.

He stressed that Russian efforts to avoid civilian casualties "of course slow the pace of the attack, but this is deliberate."
