Turtles are known to carry their houses on their back wherever they go. This little cuteness is Blade the turtle who was born with a metabolic bone disease making her unable to carry her own shell.
Her guardia, Iris Pleste took Blade to Dr. Carsten Plischke hoping to find a solution for the little tortoise. Dr. Plischke had a brilliant idea, inspired by his son’s Lego toys, to build a custom ”skate” that holds the shell off the ground and help little Blade walk!
Dr. Plischke used four wheels with tire treads that were glued to the underside of Blade’s shell.
Watching Blade mastering his “wheelchair” is one of the cutest things you’ll ever see!
