REPORT: Christians around the world participate in masses to mark the Good Friday

Christians in the Holy Land have commemorated the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in Good Friday prayers and processions through Jerusalem's Old City.

Meanwhile, thousands gathered in the Philippines to witness devotees nailed to crosses as they mark Good Friday by re-enacting Jesus Christ's suffering.

The annual Philippine ritual draws thousands of spectators to San Fernando, 80 km (50 miles) north of Manila, to see penitents flagellate themselves and a series of crucifixions in a recreation of Christ's death on the cross.
