REPORT: Number of Syrian students in Lebanon threatens Lebanese academic year

The number of Syrian students refugees in Lebanon has reached 400 thousands so far, while the Lebanese schools can contain 300 thousand students; given that the number of Lebanese students at the public schools across the country reached 275 thousand children.

This reality poses a threat to the Lebanese students’ academic year in case the Syrian refugees were allowed to register their children at the schools before the Lebanese citizens.

Accordingly, the Education Ministry has set up a plan to enable the public schools to receive up to 400 thousand students over a period of three years.
