REPORT: Torture is being practiced in a systematic manner in Lebanon

The United Nations Committee Against Torture (CAT) published in the past few days a summary of the secret investigation it held in Lebanon.

The summary of the investigation, which began in May 2012 and ended in November 2013, states that torture was and is being practiced in a systematic manner in Lebanon, particularly during interrogations in order to extract confessions.
