REPORT: Minister Rifi: Arresting my bodyguard on charges of funding kidnappers of troops is baseless
Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi stated on Saturday that information pertaining to the arrest of his bodyguard Dib Al-Lahhib on charges of transporting funds to the kidnappers of Lebanese troops is false and baseless.

Minister Rifi called on the Lebanese army and on Minister Wael Abou Faour to clarify this issue, adding that he will not file a complaint against the Al-Akhbar newspaper that published the said information.

On another note, Minister Rifi said that raid operation should be conducted not only in Tripoli’s Bab el-Tabbaneh but also in Jabal Mohsen and in South Beirut’s Dahiyeh region.

In this regard, Rifi said that the largest arm caches are in Beirut’s Dahieyh, emphasizing that he is not against applying the law on Bilal Deqmaq, but called for applying the same laws on all Lebanese citizens equally.
