REPORT: Sleiman calls from Tripoli for speeding up election of president

Former President Michel Sleiman stated on Sunday that Lebanese officials should speed up the election of a new president, stressing that void will lead to catastrophic events in the country.

Following a meeting with Mufti Malek Chaar in Tripoli, Sleiman noted that the northern city of Tripoli has specified the characteristics of a strong and just state.

For his part, Mufti Chaar said that officials should achieve national unity in a bid to overcome the country’s current situation.
