REPORT: Families of Arsal captives say Hariri ready to provide assistance
Families of the kidnapped Lebanese troops said on Monday that former Prime Minister Saad Hariri has voiced readiness to help them with their case.

“Our meeting with Hariri was good,” the captives’ families said after having visited Beit al-Wasat, stressing that they are adamant on secrecy over the Arsal captives dossier.

They also hoped they would soon hear good news.

The hostage troops and policemen were captured when jihadists from the Nusra Front and the Islamic State militant groups briefly overran the border town of Arsal in August and engaged in fierce battles with the Lebanese army.

Four captives have so far been executed, and the jihadists have threatened to kill the remaining hostages unless there is a deal to free Islamist prisoners in Lebanon.
