REPORT: Health Minister says food safety campaign restored state’s authority
Prime Minister Tammam Salam called Tuesday upon civil society activists not to back down on their demands and holding the state accountable, urging them not to tarnish the country’s image.

During a conference on the food safety campaign held at the Grand Serail, Salam considered a cabinet that does not convene as “useless.”

On another note, Salam noted that the trash will be exported abroad, adding that this option should be accepted by everyone.

Speaking of the presidential issue, Salam hoped that more efforts would be exerted in order to end the deadlock.

For his part, Health Minister Wael Abou Faour emphasized that the food safety campaign restored the state’s authority and benefited the country’s reputation and economy.

Abou Faour also expressed hope that the waste management crisis would be tackled as soon as possible.
