REPORT: Abboud urges Lebanese in Uruguay and Brazil to invest in their homeland

Back in the 80's, Brazil and Uruguay worked on a common project and built an enormous station to produce power on the Parana River. The Lebanese immigrants profited from this project and launched trade and business initiatives on this border area.

During the past few years, Shiite immigrants left Lebanon and headed there to profit from opportunities available in this regard.

However what seems to be raising questions is the presence of representatives of all Lebanese political parties in parallel to the poor participation of the Lebanese Diaspora noted in local politics.

Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud visited the state of Parana to support the citizens of Lebanese origin and to thank them for their participation in reviving the Lebanese economy, urging them to invest in their homeland.
