Mikati voices regret to “theatrical” raid of BDL-[REPORT]
 Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati voiced on Tuesday regrets to the “theatrical” way that the Central Bank was raided, in reference to Mount Lebanon Prosecutor Judge Ghada Aoun’s raid on the Central Bank earlier in the day.

“We are not defending anyone,” he added.

“We adhere to a just judiciary away from discretion, while taking care of Lebanon's financial reputation internationally,” Mikati stressed.

He concluded by saying that this case should be addressed with a prior political agreement on a new governor of the Banque du Liban, and that the case should then take its proper legal course.
