Increase of Sayrafa rate to be reflected on telecom bills
The telecom bill increased after Governor of Banque du Liban Riad Salameh raised the exchange rate to 38,000 pounds.

According to the old rate of Sayrafa, the pricing for everything related to the telecom bill, including recharge cards that are priced in US dollars, was determined on the basis of 31,200 LBP per dollar.

Accordingly, the increase in Lebanese pounds is 6,800 pounds for every dollar, or a roughly 22% rise, which citizens will experience in telecommunication prices and bills.

For instance, a prepaid recharge card that costs $4.5 = was equivalent to 140,400 pounds but is now equivalent to 171,000 pounds based on today's Sayrafa rate.

Additionally, a prepaid card that costs $7.5 and was worth 234,000 pounds is now worth 285,000 LBP based on the current Sayrafa exchange rate.

The Sayrafa rate regulates the increase in telecom prices.

These prices in US dollars are displayed on the websites of the two mobile telecommunications providers, Alfa and Touch.
