REPORT: Lebanon’s highest inhabited village braces off cold season

Bekaa Kafra’s residents bravely brace off winter, using firewood and other means of heat throughout the cold season.

Following “Olga’s” wrath, which lasted from last Saturday up until Thursday, snow at Bekaa Kafra reached a level of 1.5 meters, proving a challenge for the residents of this small but resilient village.

Bekaa Kafra is the highest inhabited town in the Middle East hailing 1,700 meters above sea level.

This report will shed light on the village of Bekaa Kafra and on its residents throughout the storm season.
