REPORT: Sayyed Nasrallah: We are men of the Syrian war, we shall yield victory
The Secretary General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered a televised speech on Saturday on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of "Liberation Day".
"Liberation Day should be always remembered and passed on to future generations."
Liberation Day is similar to the day the U.S. army withdrew from Iraq, as well as the days that targeted the American-Zionist agenda in the region, he said.
"The 1948 Nakba was a "disaster to all Arabs, all Arabs are now bearing its repercussions."
Nasrallah warned against Israel completing the implementation of its project in Palestine, while the international community stands still.
He also said that Israel threatens Lebanon on a daily basis since July 2006, noting that it has been mobilizing its troops alongside the borders with Lebanon for months.
"Israel is ready for war."
Sayyed Nasrallah then questioned the Lebanese state's readiness in the face of developments in the region.
He asserted that the Lebanese Armed Forces can fight against Israel similar to the Resistance should political cover and proper armaments be provided.
"Israel is building settlements on the borders with Jordan, Syria and Lebanon and is recruiting Jews from all over the world as part of its military plan for the region," he warned.
He called on the Lebanese state to establish initiatives and programs to encourage the livelihood of Lebanese residents in general and villagers especially.
He slammed all attempts to put Hezbollah on the terror list, saying that such attempts are just "ink on paper."
The Hezbollah top man then asserted that Israel fears the Resistance, while "some Lebanese parties are attempting "to dismantle it."
"The resistance has done a lot for Lebanon in the face of Israel," he said, clarifying that the Resistance does not mean only Hezbollah but "all parties who have exerted efforts in this regard."
He said if Hezbollah accepts to put its weapons under the direction of the Lebanese state, "the weapons will lose their significance."
On the upcoming parliamentary elections, Sayyed Nasrallah slammed the parliamentary blocs failure in agreeing on a new electoral draft law.
He added that a decision by his bloc to submit candidatures at the Ministry of Interior was taken before the March 14 alliance, adding that Hezbollah rejects "political vacuum."
On the Tripoli clashes, Sayyed Nasrallah urged an end to the "absurd battle," calling for a city free of the repercussions of the Syrian crisis.
He highlighted the importance of the army and the state in guaranteeing civil peace and coexistence in Lebanon.
On Syria, He said that the ongoing crisis in Damascus is "very crucial" for Lebanon, adding however that reforms are required and could be reached only through "political dialogue."
He pointed that the events taking place in the last years prove that there is an axis led by the USA and supported by Israel, while the al-Qaeda and Takfiri organizations worldwide are being paid to participate in it.
Sayyed Nasrallah asserted that there is a "political and economic world war" on Syria, adding that thousands of fighters were sent to Damascus whilst world and regional powers "express dismay at the involvement of 'few' Hezbollah members."
He added that those who send Takfiri groups to Lebanon "suffer the consequences, noting that this "ideology will soon arrive to Beirut."
He also revealed that the Syrian opposition abroad has a certain vision and is ready for political dialogue, while others obey the Pentagon's orders.
He said that the Takfiris are the most "prevalent groups in the Syrian opposition."
"Danger resides in Takfiris controlling the borders. The Syrian crisis is dangerous to Lebanon and the notion of coexistence within," he said.
"Should Syria fall in the hands of the Takfiris, Israel will enter Lebanon," he warned, adding that if the Syrian regime is toppled, the Palestinian cause will be lost.
"We are men of the Syrian war, and we shall yield victory," he concluded.
