REPORT: Israel raises alert level as battles intensify at borders with Syria

The battles witnessed by the Syrian town of Quneitra between the opposition and the Syrian forces led the Israeli officials to place the issue of the border region between Israel and Syria at the top of their concerns.

Accordingly, the Israeli Army increased the level of its alert along the border, and issued orders urging the troops to respond to any source of fire from the Syrian side, while the air force intensified its flights over the region.

In this context, the Army declared closed military zones, banning farmers from accessing their lands and closing streets connecting Golan settlements.

This report will examine the move taken by Israel through filing a complaint against the Syrian army with the United Nations and its reaction toward the activities of the Syrian army after taking control over Quneitra town.
