Press Digest for Sunday November 17, 2013

The following are summaries of today's major stories published in the Arabic press. LBCI does not edit press digest articles for content, giving English-language readers insight into the various views expressed in newspapers across the Arab world.

Prominent Lebanese sources reported to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Anbaa on Sunday that Lebanese President Michel Sleiman will discuss during the Third African-Arab Summit the repercussions of the Syrian crisis on Lebanon.

The sources added to the newspaper that President Sleiman will be also discussing the continuous influx of Syrian refugees.

Sources reported to the Kuwaiti newspaper As-Seyassah that head of the National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt was not content regarding the latest speech delivered by the Secretary General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah especially when the latter addressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In this regard, MP Jumblatt told his visitors that the Kingdom is not halting the formation of a new cabinet, adding that it has always been supporting the Lebanese people at the darkest circumstances.

The sources added that regardless of Jumblatt’s discontent, contacts are continuous between the Progressive Socialist Party and Hezbollah officials in order to hold a meeting between Jumblatt and Nasrallah in a bid to reach a solution for Lebanon’s current situation.
