Speaker Berri does not expect election of new president during Wednesday's session-sources

Sources told As-Safir newspaper on Wednesday that Speaker Nabih Berri does not expect the election of a new president during today's electoral session.

The same sources added that he is still adamant on calling on Lebanese lawmakers to hold parliamentary sessions in order to find a new head of state.

According to the daily, the lawmakers did not make any progress regarding the pay scale file.

Prime Minister Salam holds discussions over mechanism for cabinet's work-sources

Ministerial sources told al-Joumhouria newspaper on Wednesday that Prime Minister Tammam Salam is carrying out deliberations in order to find a mechanism for the cabinet's work.

The same sources added that Hezbollah and Amal movement ministers played a positive role to convince the Free Patriotic Movement ministers to discuss the mechanism of the cabinet's work during the cabinet's session.

Hariri to meet Jumblatt on Friday over presidential election- sources

Sources told An-Nahar newspaper on Wednesday that former Prime Minister Saad Hariri and the head of the Progressive Socialist Party MP Walid Jumblatt will meet on Friday.

The same sources said that discussions will reportedly tackle the presidential elections and ways to facilitate the election of a new head of state.

Resistance and Lebanese security apparatuses thwart terrorist plot targeting hospitals in Dahiyeh region-sources

Sources told al-Akhbar newspaper on Wednesday that Hezbollah and the Lebanese security apparatuses successfully thwarted a terrorist plot targeting hospitals in the Dahiyeh region.

The same sources added that the Abdall Azzam Brigade was behind the plan, adding that the security apparatuses have arrested seven suspects so far.
