• PSP deputies to submit candidacies for parliamentary elections - Sources

Sources close to Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt reported to Al-Mustaqbal newspaper that PSP deputies will submit next week their candidacies for the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The sources added to the newspaper that PSP deputies aim at respecting constitutional deadlines as well as constitutional entitlements that include parliamentary elections.

The sources also pointed out that submitting candidacies does not mean that the elections will be held; however, stressed that the party is keen on holding them on due time.

• PM Salam discusses security situation with security apparatuses

Sources reported to An-Nahar newspaper on Sunday that Prime Minister Tammam Salam discussed with security apparatuses the latest developments at the local level.

The sources also noted that Interior Minister Nouhad Mashnouq canceled his visit to Qatar, which was scheduled for today, due to the security situation in Lebanon.

• Qatari negotiator did not meet Al-Nusra officials - Sources

Sources following up on the issue of soldiers who were kidnapped during clashes in Arsal reported to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that the Qatari negotiator did not meet with Al-Nusra Front leaders.

In this regard, the newspaper noted that the Qatari official met with mediators, assuring that he had received from them a list of demands pertaining to the case of abducted soldiers.
