The following are summaries of today's major stories published in the Arabic press. LBCI does not edit press digest articles for content, giving English-language readers insight into the various views expressed in newspapers across the Arab world.

Future bloc MP Khaled Daher denied on Sunday that he encouraged Lebanese Armed Forces soldiers to defect from the army.

Daher told al-Seyassah newspaper that the confessions of the arrested terrorist Ahmad Salim Mikati are "nothing but lies," adding he has nothing to do with terrorist Mikati.

Daher also noted that such claims are fabricated by Hezbollah's top security official Wafiq Safa.

Former Minister Faisal Karami said that the latest security chaos in the northern city of Tripoli poses threats on Lebanon.

Karami told al-Anbaa newspaper on Sunday that international and regional powers are interfering in the city, adding that some internal sides helped them in this regard.

Minister of Economy and Trade Alain Hakim told Acharq al-Awsat newspaper on Sunday that the economic growth in Lebanon will not exceed 2% in 2015 should the political disputes persist.

Hakim also noted that Lebanon is in dire need of 2.5 billion dollars to address the Syrian refugees crisis.

He concluded by saying that the Syrian refugees influx increased the crime percentage to 38% in the country.
