Russian Foreign Ministry: Situation in Lebanon and Syria focus of Bou Habib’s deliberations in Moscow
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that the upcoming visit of Lebanese Foreign Affairs Minister Abdallah Bou Habib to Moscow and his meetings with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov would focus on the situation in Lebanon and Syria.

The ministry's comments were made in a statement on its website on Saturday night ahead of Bou Habib’s arrival to Moscow as part of a visit that will last until November 23, during which he will hold a meeting with Lavrov on Monday, November 22, on the Lebanese Independence Day.

The statement mentioned that deliberations would witness an exchange of views on “urgent International and regional issues, with a focus on developments in Lebanon.”

It is also scheduled to pay great attention to "the situation in Syria and the issue of the return of Syrian refugees.”

The two ministers will also discuss the settlement in the Middle East.

On another note, the statement affirmed Russia's support to the efforts of the new Lebanese government headed by Prime Minister Najib Mikati in its efforts to overcome the severe social and economic crisis in the country.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also called on the Lebanese political forces to "continue to display a high level of responsibility and prepare for compromise, driven by national interests."

The statement concluded by saying that the two ministers also intend to discuss ways to strengthening trade and economic partnership as well as developing humanitarian relations between Russia and Lebanon.
