Spain sacks spy chief over Pegasus spyware scandal
According to Spain's defense minister, the director of the country's top intelligence agency has been fired following two separate cases of the hacking of politicians’ mobile phones using Pegasus spyware.
 
Paz Esteban, the first woman to head Spain’s National Intelligence Centre (CNI), will be replaced, Defense Minister Margarita Robles whose ministry oversees the agency, told a news conference on Tuesday.
