Blinken arrives to Japan to pay condolences
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken made an unscheduled and brief trip to Tokyo to express his condolences to the Japanese people following the murder of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
 
Blinken arrived at the Yokota military base, which is close to Tokyo, and will later fly back to the United States after touring Southeast Asia. 
 
Blinken, who met Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in the Japanese capital, is only expected to stay for a few hours.
